Beveridge
The Beveridge Intermodal Precinct will play a central role in strengthening Australia’s national freight network and supporting the future growth of Melbourne’s northern corridor.
About Beveridge Precinct
Located in Melbourne, the heart of Australia’s freight industry, this project will help transform the nation’s supply chain and importantly, lower costs for Australian businesses and families.
Beveridge Intermodal Precinct’s strategic location on the Inland Rail route means this 900 hectare-site with 400 hectares of developable land has the ability to offer the efficiency of double-stacked container services for 1,800-metre freight trains to Perth via Parkes, and to Brisbane on completion of Inland Rail.

A place to build a long-term career
Beveridge Intermodal Precinct will be built over time and operate for decades. That means ongoing work, not just during construction but well into the future.
In the early stages, most roles will support building the terminal and surrounding precinct.
As the precinct becomes operational, jobs will shift into day-to-day freight and logistics, including:
- Terminal operations
- Warehousing and distribution
- Freight coordination
- Maintenance and site services
As the site grows, so will the range of roles and opportunities available.
Built with local capability
We’re prioritising participation from Melbourne’s north. Beverage Intermodal Precinct is more than a precinct—it’s a long-term investment in regional capability.
A locally embedded workforce strengthens:
- Operational continuity
- Skills development across the logistics sector
- Economic resilience in surrounding communities
Evolving opportunities in a growing precinct
Employment at Beveridge will grow and change as the precinct develops:
Construction phase
- Civil works and infrastructure delivery
- Engineering and project management
- Site operations
Operations phase
- Terminal operations
- Freight coordination and logistics
- Warehousing and distribution
- Maintenance and asset management
- Security and site services
This transition reflects the shift from project delivery to a legacy piece of national infrastructure.

National significance, local impact
As Australia’s largest intermodal precinct, Beveridge will reshape how freight moves across the country.
This scale enables:
- More efficient national supply chains
- Reduced congestion in urban freight networks
- Growth in logistics and associated industries
In addition to these national benefits, the precinct will help create sustained local employment and business activity.
